Tamil Meaning

'ஆடிவரும் [குதிரையைப்போன்ற] மயில்வாகனமே! வேலாயுதமே! அழகான சேவலே!' என்று துதிசெய்து திருப்பாடல்களைப் பாடுவதையே அடியேனின் வாழ்நாட்பணியாக இருக்கும்படி அருள்புரிவீராக! 'கஜமுகாசுரன்' எனப்படும் ஓர் அசுரன் பெரியதொரு யானையின் முகத்தையுடையவனாகத் தோன்றி [விண்ணோர்களைப் பகைவர்களாகக் கருதி அவர்களைத்] தேடிச்சென்றபோது, போர்க்களத்தில் அவனைக் கொன்றழித்த திருவிநாயகப்பெருமானின் சோதரனாகிய [கந்தப்பெருமானே!].

English Meaning

"O, Lord Kanthaa! Please grant me the gracious boon, so that singing in praise of Your [horse-like vehicle of] dancing peacock, Your lance, and the beautiful rooster shall be the work of my lifetime! You are the brother of Lord Vinaayakapperumaan, who destroyed the demon Gajamukaasuran in battle when the demon had assumed the form of a huge elephant's head and] went in search of the celestials [whom he regarded as his enemies]."
