கங்கை நதிக்கு மைந்தரே! ஞானசுகத்தின் தலைவரே! திதி என்பவளின் புத்திரர்களாகிய அசுரர்களின் பெருமையைக் கெடுத்து அழித்த அதிவீரரே! அறிவு குலைந்து மிகவும் உள்ளம் சோர்வுற்று மயங்கி நற்கதி பெறும்வழியை இழந்து வீணாகக் கெட்டழிதல் அடியேனின் தலைவிதியோ?

O, Lord! You are the Beloved Son of the river Ganges! You are the eternal abode of the bliss of divine wisdom! You are the Supreme Hero, who ruined and destroyed the pride of demons, who were the sons of a woman named Thithi! Am I destined to be bewildered, disillusioned, vainly ruined and destroyed bereft of the path of attaining mukthi [liberation]?
