பூதமும் தீரும் பொருபடையும் - தீதகலாவெவ்விடமும் துட்ட மிருகமுதலாம் எவையும்
எவ்விடம் வந்துஎம்மை எதிர்ந்தாலும் - அவ்விடத்தில்பச்சைமயில் வாகனமும் பன்னிரண்டு திண்தோளும்
அச்சம்அகற்றும் அயில்வேலும் - கச்சைத்திருவரையும் சீறடியும் செங்கையும் ஈராறு
அருள் விழியும் மாமுகங்கள் ஆறும் - விரிகிரணம்சிந்தப் புனைந்த திருமுடிகள் ஓராறும்
எந்தத் திசையும் எதிர்தோன்ற - வந்து இடுக்கண்எல்லாம் பொடிபடுத்தி எவ்வரும் தந்துபுகுந்து
உல்லாச மாகஉளத்திருந்து - பல்விதமாம்ஆசுமுதல் நாற்கவியும் அட்டாவதானமும் சீர்ப்
பேசும்இயல் பல்காப்பியத் தொகையும் - ஓசைஎழுத்து முதலாம் ஐந்திலக்கணமும் தோய்ந்து
பழுத்த தமிழ்ப்புலமை பாலித்து - ஒழுக்கமுடன்இம்மைப் பிறப்பில் இருவாதனை அகற்றி
மும்மைப் பெருமலங்கள் மோசித்துத் - தம்மைவிடுத்துஆயும் பழைய அடியாருடன் கூட்டித்
தோயும் பரபோகம் துய்ப்பித்துச் - சேயகடியேறும் பூங்கமலக் கால்காட்டி ஆட்கொண்டு
அடியேற்கு முன்நின்று அருள்!"
English Meaning
"You are abiding in the hearts of your devotees, who visit your abode in six sacred shrines [at Thirupparaŋkuṉṟam, Thiruccenthūr, Thiruāvinankuṭi (Pazhani), Thiruvērakam (Cuvāmimalai), Kuṉṟuthoṟātal, and Pazhamuthircōlai], and lovingly say the sacred six-letter word (Caravaṇapava).
You are the Cevvēḷ, protecting Thiruccenthūr, which has the grove of areca-nut trees with fragrant flowers, and the great seashore, where the waves rise up to the clouds in the sky.
Whenever and wherever any of the following, namely, the suffering which results from the millions of rebirths, millions of hindrances causing ignobility, many kinds of diseases, innumerable sinful deeds, the acts of witchcraft and evil deeds instigated by others, snakes, goblins, malignant ghosts, fire, water, warring-weapons, deadly poison, and wild animals confront me, I beseech you to be gracious enough to grant me your sacred vision, while riding on your vehicle of young peacock, with your six sacred lustrous crowns, six sacred faces with twelve sacred eyes of compassion, twelve strong shoulders, fair and beautiful hands and the sharp lance, which wards off fear, beautiful hip adorned with waist-apparel, and sacred little feet; please protect me by destroying all the harm to pieces; please grant me all the boons requested; please enter and abide in my heart happily; please grant me the mature scholarship in five-fold Tamil grammar [namely, alphabets, words, themes of poetry, prosody, and rhetoric], the ability to compose poems of many kinds and the power of memory to answer eight kinds of questions simultaneously; please grant me good conduct by removing the two kinds of internal and external desires, the three kinds of impurities, [namely, ignorant egoism (āṉavam), evil deed (kanmam), and delusion (māyai)], and preventing impertinence; please enable me to join your elderly devotees, so that I can also experience the great bliss experienced by them; please make me feel happy to have the vision of your sacred lotus-flower-like-feet, and please accept me as your humble devotee and grant me grace!"
